MUSSELBURGH 4 HEARTS 3
Musselburghs' season started as last season finished with a fantastic win against a tallented Hearts side that battled well. New signings Chris Gordon and Ryan McCallum 2 got the goals but Paul Currie hit what turned out to be the winner to complete a excellent game watched by a very sizable crowd.

BURGH SIGN CHRIS GORDON
More good news for Burgh fans the club today agreed a fee for tallented Penicuik star Chris Gordon. The 26 year old former Berwick Rangers player is the third major signing of the summer having just completed the deal to bring in gifted striker Ryan McCallum.
Commenting on the shock news manager David McGlynn said he had been an fan of Chris for some time describing him as 'a great addition to the squad. A player that gives 100% every week, a top quality player'
Also ex Whitburn and Linlithgow star Iain Ramage will join the club and the coaching team. We welcome the three guys and hope that they can help our push this season towards the super league

Musselburgh Athletic manager David McGlynn today gave the full details of his final squad ahead of the seasons opener against Hearts on the 22nd. His coaching team will be Mark Wilson, Simon Oxley and joining us from Whitburn Iain Ramage.
Goalkeepers: Del Polowj and Ronnie McPherson
Defenders/Midfielders: Danny Sweeney, Johnny Bain, Wes Mitchell, Craig McManus, Brian Murray, Andy Porteous, Martin Murphy and just signed from Penicuik Chris Gordon
Midfielders/Attackers: Scott Devlin, Danny Kelly, Paul Tansey, Paul Currie, Matti King, David Turnbull, Chris King and from Arniston Ryan McCallum

NEW MUSSELBURGH CENTURIANS
Paul Currie and Andy Porteous have joined the short list of Musselburgh players to have started more than 100 games. Andy is now 8th in the table and Paul is 10th. The table also includes manager David McGlynn who closed the gap on the 3rd place. All have a long way to go to catch leader Johnny Combe who has started 269 games since 1997

With the season finished two days ago already the build up starts for the new campain. Musselburgh returned to training in July and have the following games as friendlies

BURGH WIN THE DOUBLE
Three penalty saves from Ronnie McPherson helped bring the Brown Cup home to Musselburgh, but all the players that took part in the 5-1 win at Dunbar, the 2-1 win over Bathgate and the 2-0 win over Linlithgow as well as the managemnet team deserve huge credit.
The Brown Cup final against Bo'ness was played at Albyn Park and after a tense 0-0 draw Musselburgh won 3-2 on Penalties.
In the St Micheals cup Musselburgh beat a battling Arniston thanks to a late strike from Chris King.

LOCAL MSP ENJOYS BURGH GAME
Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill was a welcomed guest at Olivebank on Saturday for our cup semi final win against Linlithgow. The Edinburgh East and Musselburgh MSP s takes in a range of policy areas, from criminal law and sentencing policy to fire and rescue services, religious and faith organisations.
A keen football fan Kenny commented on the excellent condition of the Olivebank pitch and had been following closely the progress of the club since his last visit.
After the game Club Chairman Charlie McGlynn presented Mr MacAskill with a Musselburgh scarf which will take pride of place in his constituancy office.
